2013 San Diego County Cup

Congratulations to all the athletes who competed in the 2013 San Diego County Cup Tournament this past weekend. Congratulations to Liam Ward (G) named to the 6th Grade & Under Boys All-Tournament Team.

Summer 2013

Our summer programs will kick off their summer session the week of May 13, 2013. We are offering 10u, 12u, 14u, 16u, & 18u in both genders. Registration is now open. Please select Calendars/Practice to see practice days and times for all age and gender groups. 2013 Summer Kick Off Event

Come one, come all! Lamorinda Water Polo will be holding its 2013 Summer Kick Off dinner at Orinda Country Club on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 6:00pm. Adult dinner is $20.00 per person and Youth dinner is $17.50. You may pre-purchase your dinners under the register page.

California Cup State Finals - Youngers

Congratulations to all of our youngers who competed this past weekend in the California Cup State Finals. Lamorinda Water Polo entered four teams in the younger divisions: 12u girls, 14u girls, 12u boys, and 14u boys. The 14u boys finished 3rd place in their division with a 4-1 record. Their only loss in the tournament was in the semi-finals against SoCal, who went onto win the State title. Our 14u girls faced some strong opposition against southern California teams in the early round of competition. Finishing in 12th place, the girls improved individually and as a team. The 12u boys lost their first game of the competition in a shootout; always a heartbreaker; however, the team bounced back to win the next two competitions and make their way into the 3rd place game against Rosebowl. While the outcome was not favorable to Lamo, the competition was closely contested to the end. Last, but certainly not least, the 12u girls obtained a great deal of knowledge and experience competing against some of the top 12un girls’ teams in the state. Their tenacity and effort reigned throughout the competition. Again, congratulations to all. We are very proud of you!

Catharine von Schwarz Arroyo Appointed Director of Lamorinda's Girls Program

Lamorinda Water Polo Club has named Catharine "Cat" von Schwarz Arroyo as the Director of the girls program. Cat joined the Lamorinda coaching staff in 2012, leading the U16 team. In addition to her responsibilities at Lamorinda Cat currently serves on the coaching staff of the 2012 NCS Div 2 Champion Girls Water Polo Team at Campolindo High School, the Pacific Zone Olympic Development Program and is the head coach of the St. Mary's College Women's Water Polo Club Team. Cat brings a wealth of accomplishments and the vast experience and knowledge to our club.

Lamorinda Water Polo Club is a year-round USA Water Polo club program and is open to any individual who wants to learn about the sport of water polo, develop new skills, and enhance their attained skill level. We strive to establish a fun, supportive, and positive environment; where players at all levels can strengthen their skills and enjoy competition on a local, regional, national or international basis. Lamorinda is committed to grow the sport of water polo and to create an atmosphere for team and individual growth in sportsmanship, athletic excellence, and personal integrity.

Summer 2013 Programs and Schedules are now posted. The Summer program runs from May 13th through July 31st (boys) and August 4th (girls). SPLASHBALLTM WINTER/SPRING PROGRAM
in partnership with MORAGA PARK & REC
Designed for boys and girls, ages 5 to 9 years old, with little or no water polo experience. The players will learn the basics of the game while having loads of fun. SPLASHBALLTM is a no-contact program held in a shallow pool and floatation devices are allowed. Each practice will be 1.25 hours in duration on Sunday afternoons. Cost is $153.00
