Its official! Drew Holland was selected to the Men's Senior National team for the upcoming Volvo Cup to be held in Serbia in February. The tournament is one of several tune-up tournaments leading to the Olympics in Rio in the summer of 2016. It's quite an honor to represent the USA but also our community and Lamorinda Water Polo. Drew's appointment is much deserved after such a stellar career at Lamo and more recently Stanford. Drew (as well as his brothers Kent and John) played for Lamorinda for years culminating in last summer's 3rd place finish at JO's and prior to that he was the starting goalie on the teams which won the 16U and 18U Junior Olympic championships in 2011 and 2012, respectively. Drew was selected to several All-American, All-NCS, All-DFAL teams and this is only the latest in a string of accomplishments which he has earned. Please join me in congratulating him on this latest accomplishment. Congrats to him and his family.
